08 Feb 11 - AS/NZS 60950.1 Ed. 2.0 published
This standard is the joint Australian and New Zealand version of IEC 60950-1 Ed. 2.0 published in 2005.  Australia's variations to IEC 60950-1 Ed. 2.0 are contained in Appendix ZZ at the back of the standard.  These variation have been submitted to the IECEE for publication in the IECEE CB Scheme Bulletin.

29 Jul 10 - The updated New Zealand 'Short Range Devices' General User Radio Licence (GURL) became effective
The New Zealand Ministry of Economic Development (MED), as per the New Zealand Radiocommunications Act 1989 and Regulation 9 of the New Zealand Radiocommunications Regulations 2001, has issued an updated Short Range Devices GURL.  It became effective on 29 Jul 10.

31 Mar 10 - Electronic labelling for C-Tick and A-Tick allowed for some equipment
With effect 31 Mar 10, Electronic labelling with the A-Tick or C-Tick is allowed for devices with built-in displays.

This applies to all four regulated areas of product compliance covered by the A-tick and C-Tick marks and administered and enforced by the ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority), i.e.:

EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility – C-Tick);
EMR (Electromagnetic Radiation - radiation as it impacts humans – C-Tick);
Radiocommunications (regulating the supply of radio devices – C-Tick); and
Telecommunications (A-Tick)

NOTE: The ACMA also administer the licensing of radio devices but there are no labelling requirements concerning licensing requirements.
